Punjab lawyers to boycott courts today

LAHORE: Lawyers will boycott courts across Punjab today (Friday) in protest against the increase in court fees.

The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) gave the call for a strike as the government increased the court fee from Rs200 to Rs500.

The council office-bearers said: “We strongly condemn the Rs500 court fee decision. Increasing the fee through amendments will add to the inflation-hit public problems.”

They demanded that the government withdraw the decision to hike fees.
