Punjab police special operations cell arrests two proclaimed offenders in UAE


The Punjab Police Special Operations Cell successfully arrested two 'dangerous offenders' in a recent operation conducted in the UAE.

LAHORE: The Punjab Police Special Operations Cell successfully arrested two dangerous proclaimed offenders wanted for ‘serious’ ‘crimes’, including murder and attempted murder, in a recent operation conducted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The arrests were confirmed by a spokesperson for the Punjab Police.

The operation was led by Inspector Khalid Warriach, who, along with his team, departed from Dubai with the arrested accused. They are expected to arrive at Islamabad airport Sunday (today) morning.

The operation marks a huge achievement for the provincial police, who has now arrested a total of 18 reportedly “dangerous offenders” from abroad this year.

Among those arrested is Waleed Sajjad, who was wanted by the Gujranwala police in connection with two separate cases involving shooting and injuring citizens during a murderous attack.

The second suspect, Ali Zeb, is reportedly wanted for the murder fo a citizen, a crime that occurred in 2023.

The Punjab Police utilised Interpol to issue red notices for the arrest of the accused, who facilitated their arrest in the UAE.

The spokesperson for the provincial law enforcement confirmed that UAE police officials cooperated with the Punjab police team, handing over the accused as part of the extradition process.
