Quetta: CTD eliminates two terrorists of banned outfit

WEB DESK: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday eliminated two terrorists belonging to a proscribed organisation during an intelligence-based operation near Quetta’s Darakhshan area, officials said.

According to a CTD spokesperson, an intense gun battle between security forces and the terrorists lasted for about an hour. “One terrorist was killed in the exchange of fire while the other blew himself up with a suicide vest,” the spokesperson said.

Security forces recovered a suicide jacket, explosive material, and weapons from the killed terrorists. The CTD revealed the terrorists were planning sabotage activities in the city.

“The timely operation has thwarted potential terrorist attacks in Quetta,” the spokesperson added. The identities of the slain terrorists were not immediately disclosed as investigations continue.
