Islamabad receives light rain, snowfall expected in hilly areas

ISLAMABAD: Several areas of Islamabad experienced light rain on Tuesday. Sectors such as G6, G7, E11 experienced drizzling throughout the day.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the capital is expected to witness more rain from Wednesday (tomorrow) with the possibility of snowfall in the hilly areas of the capital.
A cold western wind is affecting the north-western parts of Pakistan. This cold weather pattern is likely to bring rain and possible snow to Islamabad in the upcoming days.
Travelers might encounter transportation issues due to snowfall in the hilly regions of the city and are advised to refrain from unnecessary travel.
Islamabad is currently enjoining 11 degrees Celsius and is expected to experience temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius in the next two days.
Substantial rainfall and snowfall are expected in other parts of Pakistan as well. According to the PMD, rain accompanied by isolated snowfall is expected in various parts of Balochistan, including Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Chagi, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Awaran, Turbat, Kech, and Gwadar.
Similarly, the PMD foresees rain and snowfall in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, and Waziristan. Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan are also expecting heavy snowfall in the next few days.
