PMD predicts rainfall in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, snowfall expected in KP

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts different levels of rainfall in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan tomorrow, on Thursday.
Currently, most areas of Pakistan are experiencing continental air. However, a westerly wave is expected to reach the upper parts of the country on Thursday.
As a result, Wednesday evening and night are likely to bring mainly dry weather to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and many other parts of the country. In the upper regions, cold conditions will prevail during this time.
On Thursday, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and the Potohar region may experience partly cloudy weather, along with rain, wind, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills.
Isolated hailstorms are also likely during this period. Additionally, fog or smog is expected to persist in the plain areas of Punjab and Sindh during the morning hours.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature is projected to range between 06–08 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 07–09 degrees Celsius on Friday.
Rawalpindi is forecast to experience a minimum temperature between 08–10 C on Thursday and 10–12 C on Friday.
Meanwhile, over the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed across most parts of the country. Leh, being the coldest place in Pakistan, recorded a temperature of 06 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was noted at 06 C, with a relative humidity of 93 per cent during the morning.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was 08 C, with a morning relative humidity of 88 per cent.
Snowfall, hailstorm expected in KP areas
The PMD also predicts rain and isolated hailstorms for parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
Similar to other regions, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan, and a westerly wave is expected on Thursday.
Cold and dry weather is anticipated in Peshawar and most districts of the province on Wednesday evening and night, with partly cloudy weather forecasted for Thursday.
Rain, wind, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills are likely in Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, Swat, Abbottabad, Manshera, Mardan, Kurrum, and Kohat on Thursday.
Over the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather dominated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with Dir recording the lowest temperature at 01 C in the province.
Peshawar noted a minimum temperature of 06 C, with a morning relative humidity of 93 per cent.
