Rain predicted for various cities today, including Islamabad

WEB DESK: Storms, rain and hail have been predicted in various parts of the country including the federal capital Islamabad today.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain is likely at some places in Islamabad, northeast Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan and Kashmir today.
Other than these, PMD said that the weather will remain hot and dry, with the hottest day today being in Sibi, where the temperature can reach 50 degrees.
YESTERDAY’S STORM AND TORRENTIAL RAIN
On Saturday, storms and torrential rain were reported in various areas, which also led to power cuts in many areas.
In Islamabad too, power supply was disconnected in different areas due to strong winds, so much so that the shed of Quaid-e-Azam University canteen collapsed due to stormy winds.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner directed all assistant commissioners to remain in the field, and directed the magistrates to ensure monitoring of low-lying areas, and also keep an eye on the condition of buildings under construction and drains.
The federal capital authorities also said that traffic flow should be ensured in collaboration with the traffic police.
Meanwhile, a flood situation has arisen in some areas like Mingora. Due to rain and hail, water entered houses and shops, long queues of vehicles formed due to water accumulation on various roads in Swat, and power supply has been suspended in many areas due to rain and storm.
Power supply was cut off due to wind and stormy winds in Rawalpindi, Haripur, Khanpur, Abbottabad, Lower Dir, Buner, Swabi, Mansehra, Taxila, Nowshera.
