ISLAMABAD: Rain is likely to occur in various parts of the country from next week, putting an end to prevailing dry weather.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz speaking on Hum News Program “Subah Se Aagay” told that a rain spell is expected in various parts of the country, including Islamabad, around January 20 due to winds entering Balochistan from Iran. 

Upper parts of the country will also receive rain and snowfall after January 20, he said. He said that with this rain spell fog is expected to be reduced in most parts of the country.

However, there is no chance of rain in Karachi, Sardar Sarfaraz said.

COLD WEATHER TO PERSIST IN KARACHI

The cold spell continues in Karachi, with the current temperature recorded at 12°C, according to the Meteorological Department.

Strong winds are expected to blow in the city today, and the weather is likely to remain partly cloudy over the next 24 hours.

The minimum temperature recorded was 11°C, while the maximum may reach up to 25°C.

The air’s moisture content stands at 71 per cent, with winds blowing at a speed of 10 km/h, according to the Met Office.

Karachi ranks as the sixth most polluted city in the world, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recording 184, indicating a high level of airborne pollutants.

Residents are advised to take precautions, especially those with respiratory conditions, as pollution levels remain hazardous.
