Rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms predicted for Monday

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that most parts of the country are forecasted to experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms, on Monday. There is also a chance of heavy rain in a few places in Punjab and Kashmir.

Going region by region, Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to be partly cloudy, with a possibility of gusty winds and thundershowers.

In Punjab, cities including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan will likely face strong winds, gusts, and thundershowers, with a chance of rain. Additionally, heavy rain is expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, regions such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Butgram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bunir, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Mohmand, Khyber, Bajaur, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan are likely to experience gusty winds and thundershowers. Heavy rain is also expected at a few places including Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Dir, Swat, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Peshawar, and Bajaur.

Sindh will see strong winds and thundershowers in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Kashmore, Qamber Shahdadkot, Dadu, Ghotki, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar, Umarkot, Matiari, Naushahro Feroze, Jamshoro, Thatta, Badin, Padidan, Sajawal, Karachi, and Hyderabad. Heavy rain is also expected in Larkana, Jacobabad, Qamber Shahdadkot, Dadu, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, and Karachi.

In Balochistan, areas such as Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Barkhan, Musakhail, Zhob, Mastung, Sibi, Shirani, Kohlu, Bolan, Harnai, Loralai, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, Jafarabad, Dera Bugti, Quetta, Ziarat, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, and Kalat will experience gusty winds and thundershowers. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Kech, Panjgur, Barkhan, Musakhail, Sibi, Kohlu, Bolan, and Harnai.

In Kashmir, intermittent rain with gusty winds and thundershowers is expected, along with heavy rain in some areas.

Likewise, Gilgit-Baltistan is forecasted to be partly cloudy with thunder and rain in a few places.
