Met office predicts widespread rain across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted rain in Islamabad and surrounding areas, with several regions across the country expected to experience varying degrees of rainfall.

In Balochistan, rain is anticipated in Khuzdar, Kalat, Lasbela, Awaran, and Naseerabad. Additionally, Sibi, Jafarabad, Barkhan, Kohlu, Bolan, and Jhal Magsi are likely to receive showers. The PMD has also predicted heavy rain in Panjgur and Makran.

Punjab is expected to see widespread rainfall, with the likelihood of showers in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Talagang. Rain is also forecasted for Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, and Hafizabad, along with Wazirabad, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and Nankana Sahib.

Chiniot, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, and Narowal are also on the list of areas likely to experience rain. Furthermore, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, and Bhakkar are expected to see showers.

Rajanpur, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, and Muzaffargarh are also forecasted to receive rain, with showers anticipated in Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Khanpur. In Rahim Yar Khan, there is a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by rain.

In Sindh, the meteorological office expects rain in Tharparkar, Nagarparkar, Islamkot, Mithi, and Mirpur Khas.

Showers are also likely in Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Sanghar, Karachi, Hyderabad, and Thatta. Other districts, including Umerkot, Badin, Sujawal, Benazirabad, Jamshoro, and Sukkur, may also experience rainfall.

Rain is expected in Ghotki, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Dadu, while Nowshera Feroze may see thunderstorms with rain.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, and Mansehra. Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Swabi, Nowshera, and Mardan are also likely to experience showers.

The PMD forecasts rain in Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Mohmand, Khyber, Bajaur, Charsadda, Hangu, and Kurram. Waziristan, Parachinar, Karak, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan are also expected to see rain.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, several areas are likely to experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.

Finally, Azad Kashmir is expected to receive heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

The PMD advises residents in these areas to take necessary precautions and stay updated on weather forecasts.
