Rain, thunderstorms expected in various parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad and its surrounding areas are likely to experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms, according to the Meteorological Department.

In Balochistan, showers are expected in Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel, Loralai, and Ziarat, while rainfall is also predicted for Pishin, Quetta, Sibi, Kohlu, Kalat, Khuzdar, Kharan, and Panjgur. Thunderstorms with rain are anticipated in Awaran and Turbat.

The weather department has also forecasted rain for Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Mianwali. Rain is expected in Sargodha, Layyah, Taunsa, Bhakkar, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Most districts of Sindh are expected to remain hot and dry. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, and Abbottabad, with showers also expected in Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, and Mohmand.

The areas of Khyber, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kurram, and Waziristan are also likely to receive rainfall.

Tank and Dera Ismail Khan may experience rain, with the possibility of hail at some locations. In Gilgit-Baltistan, some areas are likely to see thunderstorms with rain, while Azad Kashmir is expected to remain mostly dry.
