Rainy conditions predicted for Monday; mountains might get snowy

WEB DESK: On Monday, intermittent rain with strong winds and thundershowers are expected at many places in northern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Pothohar region. Snowfall is also likely on the mountains, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Heavy rain, snowfall and hail is predicted for the mountaineous regions all across the country, while the plains will be cold and dry.

Going region by region, Islamabad and its surrounding areas will get intermittent rain with thundershowers and strong winds. During this, hail is also possible at some places.

In Punjab, PMD predicts rain with strong winds for Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar and Layyah. Moreover, rain with snowfall, or possibly hail might be seen in Murree, Galiyat and surrounding areas.

Moving towards Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swat, Chitral, Dir, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Battagram, Abbottabad, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram and Waziristan will experience intermittent to heavy rain and snowfall with strong winds and thunderstorms.

Moreover, Malakand, Haripur, Swabi, Nowshera, Kohat, Bannu, Karak and Hangu will experience partly cloudy weather along with strong winds and thunderstorms. Hail is also expected at a few places during this period.

For Sindh, weather expected to remain dry in most districts of the province. Likewise, for Balochistan, weather will remain cold and partly cloudy in most districts of the province. However, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is likely in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Mastung, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Harnai, Zhob and Sherani. The mountainous regions might also receive some snowfall on Monday.

For Kashmir, PMD predicts intermittent rain and snowfall on the mountains. During this period, heavy rain and heavy snowfall are also expected at a few places. Similarly, in Gilgit-Baltistan, intermittent rain with snowfall is predicted for Monday.
