Supreme Court judges’ basic salary increased by 20%
Last month, the federal government increased the basic salaries of Supreme Court judges by 20 per cent. This came after Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani signed the Judge Salary Order 2023, which hiked chief justice’s salary from Rs10, 24324 to Rs12, 29189 per month. The decision was heavily criticised in light of the country’s economic crisis.
