Saad Rafique suggests PTI-backed candidates form coalition government with PPP

PML-N leader Saad Rqfique calls on PTI-backed independent candidates to form coalition federal government with PPP

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Saad Rafique on Friday called on the independent candidates backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to form a coalition federal government with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

In a post shared on social media X (formerly Twitter), Saad Rafique conceded that no single political party holds an absolute majority in the current National Assembly.

He said that forming a government at the centre was the shared responsibility of all political parties, rather than being the sole responsibility of the PML-N.

The former Railway Minister went on to propose that PTI-backed independent members should take the initiative of forming a coalition government at federal level with the PPP.

He concluded his post by indicating that the PML-N is unwilling to take on the task of leading such a coalition government, which he described as “wearing a crown made of thorns”.
