Safe City Authority project to be expanded to 16 cities

LAHORE: The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, announced on Saturday announced the expansion of the Punjab Safe City Authority, to 16 cities. This announcement came during the inauguration of a Model Police Station in Lahore.
Highlighting ongoing initiatives in Punjab, Naqvi shared that the upgrade of 737 police stations is currently in progress. In Lahore specifically, various areas within police stations, including front desks, waiting areas, SHO offices, and interrogation rooms, are undergoing improvements.
Moreover, the Chief Minister disclosed plans for the construction of 22 new police stations in Lahore, aiming to enhance law enforcement capabilities and community safety.
Approximately a month ago, Lahore introduced digital driving licenses as part of modernizing and streamlining services. Naqvi reported a significant uptake, with 24,800 driving licenses issued in the past 24 hours alone.
