KARACHI: The constitutional bench of the Sindh High Court on Friday approved the bail of Sahir Hassan an accused in a drug possession case.
The defence lawyer informed the court that Sahir has been in jail for over two months and is currently on judicial remand.
The court granted bail against surety bonds worth Rs. 1 million. Police had recovered 557 grams of weed from the accused.
Earlier, a larger bench of the Sindh High Court referred the bail plea to the constitutional bench, declaring it within its jurisdiction.

During the hearing, the larger bench remarked that Sahir’s bail plea should be heard by the constitutional bench.
It is worth mentioning that on February 22, 2025, Sahir, son of a well-known actor Sajid Hassan, was arrested from Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority.
During the raid, drugs worth Rs5 million were recovered from Sahir’s possession. Investigations also uncovered that he had supplied drugs to Armaghan, one of the previously detained prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case.
During the court proceedings, Sahir Hassan denied any involvement in the murder, claiming he had been wrongfully implicated.
“I was taken from my home, and later, the police alleged that drugs were recovered from me,” he stated in court. He further denied any connection to drug transactions involving Mustafa Amir or the prime suspect, Armaghan Qureshi, asserting that he had never sold or bought drugs from them.
