Sahir Hassan's bail plea referred to regular bench

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has directed that the bail plea of Sahir Hassan, son of renowned actor Sajid Hassan, be sent to a regular bench for hearing.

According to reports, the constitutional bench of the Sindh High Court heard the bail application of Sahir Hassan, who was arrested in a drug possession case. The court remarked that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of a regular court and ordered that the plea be presented before the relevant bench.

The court adjourned the hearing and instructed the concerned bench to resolve the matter within 14 days. The defence lawyer argued that the accused is currently in judicial remand and has been charged with drug possession.

According to police, Sahir Hassan was arrested on February 22 from DHA Phase 6, and five packets of weed (cannabis) were recovered from his possession.

The court further directed that all necessary proceedings be completed promptly to ensure a speedy resolution. The final decision on the bail plea will be made by the regular bench.
