Social activist Sarim Burney arrested

KARACHI: Sarim Burney, a social activist and entrepreneur and head of  Sarim Burney Welfare Trust International a non-profitable trust, has been arrested in Karachi on charges of human smuggling.

He was arrested from Karachi airport by anti human trafficking cell of the FIA wing upon arrival from US, according to FIA sources.

No more plastic bags from today in Punjab

Sources said that the arrest was a result of joint operation by FIA and an international agency.

Sarim Burney is facing serious charges of human trafficking, according to the sources.

Sarim is a Pakistani entrepreneur and Chairman who runs his non-profitable organization ‘Sarim Burney Welfare-Trust’ and performs the duties of this Trust chairperson. Since its establishment, Trust has helped many poor and victim, children, women, and men. The Trust helps every Pakistani suffering from distress and needs help
