KARACHI: Police are still unable to solve the murder case of five-year-old Mohammad Sarim, whose body was found in an underground water tank in the apartment building where he lived.
On January 7, Sarim went to a madrassah within the apartment complex but never returned.
Eleven days later, on January 18, his body was discovered in the underground water tank of the same complex.
Doctors who conducted the autopsy noted injury marks on his body, indicating that his death was “not accidental.”

Initially, police suggested that the water tank might have been improperly covered, raising the possibility that the boy fell in while playing nearby.
However, the post-mortem report confirmed that the minor was subjected to sexual assault.
Police investigators took DNA samples from 19 suspects, but all results came back negative.
The police have also taken the madrasseh teacher into custody after they recovered some medicines and videos from his room.
According to authorities, they are now waiting for the chemical examination report, as the DNA samples do not match the child. Meanwhile, police have taken more suspects into custody for questioning in the Sarim murder case.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details.
