Saudi Arabia Pakistan visa requirement

WEB DESK: Saudi Arabia, a premier destination for Pakistani travellers, has implemented new measures to simplify the process of obtaining tourist visas, effective immediately. Now, applicants need only submit a bank statement demonstrating a minimum monthly credit amount of $750 or its equivalent.

The move comes amidst a notable surge in Pakistani tourist arrivals to Saudi Arabia, which saw a 43 per cent increase in 2023 compared to the previous year. Looking ahead, Saudi Arabia aims to welcome 2.7 million Pakistani visitors in 2024.

To cater to this growing demand, Saudi Arabia has established six Tasheer offices across Pakistan, located in Peshawar, Quetta, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Multan.

These offices provide a streamlined visa application process, offering services such as guidance on visa applications, biometric enrolment, real-time application tracking, and passport delivery. Travellers can conveniently schedule appointments through the Tasheer website prior to their visit.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia has introduced a transit visa option for travellers arriving via Saudia and Flynas, allowing them to explore the kingdom for up to 96 hours. Visa on arrival is also available for those holding valid and used UK, US, or Schengen visas.

In recent developments, Saudi Arabia launched a one-year multiple entry visa specifically designed for Pakistani travellers visiting for personal reasons, such as attending weddings, functions, or visiting friends and family. This visa enables multiple visits within a 12-month period, facilitating exploration of Saudi Arabia’s dynamic cities, cultural heritage sites, and natural landscapes throughout the year.

Moreover, holders of the one-year multiple entry visa can undertake Umrah, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to facilitating spiritual journeys and cultural exchanges.
