SBP to issue Rs100 coin

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is set to release a commemorative Rs100 coin on Friday, in honour of the10th anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The coin will be made available through SBP Banking Services Corporation’s exchange counters.
Designed with meticulous attention, the round coin features serrations on the edge. It has a 30.00mm diameter, and a weight of 13.5 grams. The coin is composed of Cupro-Nickel metal.

The obverse side showcases a five-pointed star at the center. It is embellished with the crescent moon and star from Pakistan’s national flag and a cluster of five stars representing China’s national flag.
The wording “CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF CPEC” in English, and “ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN” in Urdu, encircle the star along with two stars on each side.
The coin’s reverse side mirrors the star motif, accompanied by the crescent moon and star symbols of both countries’ flags.
The phrases “CHINA PAKISTAN ECONOMIC CORRIDOR” in English and Chinese are inscribed at the top. “PAKISTAN CHEEN EQTESADI RAHDARI” in Urdu and “FROM VISION TO REALITY” in English are found at the bottom.
The coin bears the years “2013” and “2023” in numerals, symbolizing a decade of CPEC’s high-quality development.
