The statement from the Supreme Court further mentioned that a wrong impression is being given that collective punishments for “crimes against religion” are being abolished in Pakistan. The decision clarified that if the FIR is accepted as it is, then collective punishments do not apply, and the impact of abolishing collective punishments for crimes against religion in Pakistan is entirely incorrect.

It was stated in the announcement that even if allegations are admitted in the FIR, the case falls under the Army Act 1932, Section 5. Under the Army Act, publication of prohibited books can lead to a six-month imprisonment.
