Scaling down, stepping up: Govt announces ‘limited’ March 23 celebrations

ISLAMABAD: According to latest updates from the government, the Pakistan Day parade will be held after all, albeit on a limited scale.

Earlier, there were some reports that the March 23 celebrations were cut down due to Ramazan and the parade was not likely to happen. However, latest reports say that the parade will also take place but it will be done on a limited scale due to Ramadan.

The contingents of the three armed forces will participate in the Pakistan Day parade, which will be held within the premises of the President House (Aiwan-e-Sadr).

March 23 parade cancelled, ceremony at Presidency

President Asif Ali Zardari will attend the ceremony as the chief guest, the government sources said, adding that the contingents of the armed forces will salute the chief guest.

Pakistan Air Force fighter jets will also fly past in front of the President House. The Pakistan Army Pipe and Percussion Band will also demonstrate its art in the parade, sources added.

Foreign ambassadors and other important personalities have also been invited to the Pakistan Day parade ceremony.
