School holidays extended in Sargodha

SARGODHA: School holidays have been extended in Tehsil Kot Momon of Sargodha in view of the rising flood waters till next week.
According to a notification issued in this regard, all educational institutions in the affected areas will now remain closed until September 13.
Deputy Commissioner Sargodha, Captain (R) Muhammad Waseem, said the decision has been taken in view of the flood emergency and ongoing rehabilitation work, to ensure the safety of students and teachers.
He added that the protection of lives and property of students is the government’s top priority, and all steps are being taken with this in mind.
Floods force Punjab schools to close again
The deputy commissioner stated that 41 villages affected by the floods will also see private schools remain closed, while educational activities are being gradually restored in other areas.
He said that 157 schools and colleges in non-affected areas of Kot Momin have reopened from today to prevent further disruption in students’ education.
He further mentioned that the district administration is utilising all resources to speed up rehabilitation efforts and is committed to restoring educational activities as soon as possible. Repair work on damaged school buildings and facilities is also underway to provide a safe environment for students.
District authorities have appealed to parents and teachers to cooperate with the administration during the rehabilitation process so that children can resume their education in a safe environment.
