WEB DESK: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted hot and dry weather for most parts of the country on Sunday. The central and southern areas of the country will likely get extremely hot weather. PMD has also issued a heatwave warning for the upcoming few days.

PMD warned that daytime temperatures are likely to be 5 to 7 degrees Celsius above normal in southern parts of the country, including Sindh, South Punjab and Balochistan. For the upper parts of the country, including Central and Upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, PMD predicts the weather to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal.

Going region by region, Islamabad and its surrounding areas will get hot weather over the weekend. In Punjab too, similar weather conditions are expected in most districts of the province.

Most districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain hot and dry, while southern districts will remain extremely hot.

The situation is even more severe in Sindh, where the daytime temperatures will likely get up to 7 degrees Celsius higher than usual. Balochistan too will get similar conditions, especially the southern districts are predicted to get extra hot today.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan might be less hot, but PMD predicts dry weather there too.
