Second merit list for gov’t medical colleges in Punjab released

In the first merit list, 83 candidates did not submit their fees. The second list identified only three candidates as eligible for admission.

The merit for admission into a government medical college was set at 94 per cent in the first list and has increased to 94.30 per cent in the second.

There are 3,121 seats available across 17 medical colleges in the province.

The minimum merit for government medical colleges was recorded at 94.3621 per cent. King Edward Medical College, Lahore recorded the highest merit at 96.0727 per cent, followed by Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore at 95.6091 per cent.

Services Institute of Medical Sciences Lahore reported a merit of 95.2773 per cent, while Narowal Medical College, established this year, recorded a merit of 94.3621 per cent.

Candidates can view all selection list on the UHS website. Those admitted need to pay their fees by January. The annual fee for government medical colleges is set at Rs18,000.

After fee payment, candidates need to submit a written notice of joining to their respective medical colleges. Only those who completed the fee payment and joined will be officially recognised as admitted.
