KHUZDAR: Security forces launched a targeted operation on a suspected Fitna-al-Hindustan hideout in the Zehri area of Khuzdar following a tip-off. The operation resulted in seven militants being killed and 10 more wounded, security sources said on Tuesday.
According to officials, the group had been operating in the mountains adjacent to Zehri and had been reportedly harassing local residents. Forces moved in after intelligence indicated the presence of an active militant cell.

During the engagement, troops recovered a cache of weaponry from the site, including American‑made automatic rifles, grenades, ammunition and several motorcycles, security sources said. An improvised explosive device (IED) that had been emplaced on the Badukshat bridge was also discovered and safely neutralised. Helicopters were deployed to support the operation, sources added.
Security officials described the operation as ongoing and said efforts would continue “until the elimination of Fitna‑ul‑Hindustan in Balochistan.” Investigations are underway to determine the militants’ networks, routes and any external support.
Local authorities have been notified and security has been tightened in surrounding villages to protect civilians and prevent any retaliatory attacks. Medical facilities in Khuzdar were put on alert to receive any casualties.
No senior commander of the group has yet been publicly identified, and officials did not immediately release the names of those killed or injured. Further details are expected as the clearance operation and follow‑up investigations proceed.
