This year’s Defence Day holds added significance after Pakistan’s recent victory over India in the Bunyan-e-Marsoos operation, a development that has further strengthened national pride and morale.

Defence Day traditionally marks Pakistan’s resistance during the 1965 war, when Indian forces launched an attack on Lahore.

Despite being outnumbered, Pakistan’s armed forces defended key fronts with determination, with operations like Dwarka showcasing military resolve.

According to an official notification, special events will also be organised at the General Headquarters (GHQ), military garrisons, and educational institutions nationwide to pay tribute to the armed forces and martyrs who defended Pakistan during the 1965 war.

Wreath-laying ceremonies at martyrs’ monuments, military parades, and exhibitions showcasing Pakistan’s defence capabilities will be among the highlights. ISPR has also released a special promo for the event.

The government has directed local administrations to make extensive security arrangements to ensure peaceful observance of both events

Traffic plans will be issued in major cities to facilitate processions and Defence Day ceremonies simultaneously.
