Sharjeel Memon denounces threats aimed at KP governor from CM Gandapur

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon strongly criticised the recent threats made by Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur towards KP governor.

The PPP leader said that the KP CM needed to “uphold” constitutional institutions and maintain decorum while in public office.

Sharjeel Memon condemned threats uttered by Gandapur, stating that holding a high public office entails the responsibility of adhering to democratic principles and respecting the rule of law. He said that threats against the KP governor Faisal Karim Kundi were not only unacceptable but also constitute an “assault” on the “constitutional system”.

Memon called for “immediate” action against the KP CM. The PPP leader said that threats from people in positions of authority cannot be tolerated and must be addressed promptly.

Sharjeel Memon stated that the PPP was committed to “upholding” the “highest standards of conduct”. He urged restraint in addressing political differences.

The PPP leader said that constructive dialogue was needed among all political stakeholders and cautioned against resorting to intimidation or violence.
