ISLAMABAD: Prime Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday stressed the need for peace in the region, saying that Pakistan and India would have to sit together for resolving the issues.
The remarks came as he also reminded that Pakistan had won the war. “We have won the war but we want peace. We have taught our enemy a lesson but we condemn aggression.”
Shehbaz was addressing the main ceremony held in Islamabad in connection with the Thanksgiving Day celebrated across Pakistan.
About Pakistan’s desire for a peaceful neighbourhood, the prime minister noted, “We want this part of the world to be as prosperous and progressive as others through hard work, undying efforts and living like peaceful neighbours.”
Shehbaz said dialogue was the only way forward to solve the issues faced by the region. But finding a solution to the Kashmir dispute was the key for a sustainable peace in the region, he added.
COMPLETE CONTRAST
The open offer for talks is in complete contrast to the hawkish approach adopted by Indian Prime Narendra Modi whose government has now lowered the war threshold.
New Delhi is now saying that any terrorist act would be considered an act of war, even after experiencing humiliation at the hands of Pakistan in the recent conflict.
It means that India can again accuse Pakistan without providing any proof just as it did after the Pahalgam attack.
That’s why Shehbaz reminded that New Delhi had rejected Islamabad’s offer to investigate the Pahalgam episode through an international commission.
It is the reason why many experts believe that the Pahalgam attack was a false flag operation designed to orchestrate a conflict with Pakistan.
Hence, the Modi government isn’t ready for an impartial probe given the fact that it has no evidence of Pakistan’s involvement.

MISCALCULATION
In this scenario, many experts believe that the Pahalgam attack was a false flag operation designed to orchestrate a conflict with Pakistan.
Hence, the Modi government isn’t ready for an impartial probe given the fact that it has no evidence of Pakistan’s involvement.
It was certainly a miscalculation on the part of India, which had been eyeing the role of a hegemonic power in the region.
Therefore, India could not muster international support against after the Pahalgam attack and the resultant aggression against Pakistan.
