ABU DHABI: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has embarked on a pivotal one-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), his first since assuming office.

Accompanying the Prime Minister are Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.

The visit underscores the importance of the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE. A highlight of the trip is a significant meeting between Prime Minister Sharif and the President of the UAE, His Excellency Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi.

The leaders are expected to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation, with a focus on mutual growth and development.

In addition to his engagement with the UAE President, Prime Minister Sharif will meet with Pakistani and Emirati businessmen and investors, particularly those involved in the information technology sector.

These discussions are aimed at fostering investment and strengthening economic ties between the two nations. The Prime Minister is scheduled to address the attendees, with his speech being broadcast live at 2:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will hold discussions with top government officials and leading Emirati businessmen. The Prime Minister’s visit is seen as a testament to the strengthening diplomatic relations and the increasing willingness of friendly nations to invest in Pakistan.
