ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday expressed his sorrow over the death of innocent and peaceful citizens in Tirah, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after Khawarij opened fire on them, promising to take terrorism and terrorists to their logical end.

The nefarious designs of terrorists cannot dent the resolve [to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan], reads a statement issued by the PM Office, as he directed the authorities to provide treatment to the injured locals.

Recently, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who is ruling a province that has been worst affected by the re-emergence of terrorism, said that they won’t allow anyone to launch an [military] operation or use drones in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The chief minister reiterated the stance of PTI founder Imran Khan that the tribesmen has complete knowledge of their areas.

That’s why Imran has always opposed military operations and even allowed the terrorists to resettle in erstwhile FATA.

However, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi responded to the criticism by Gandapur, promising to use all available resources against the terrorists, after the latter questioned the federal cabinet member’s visit to Afghanistan.

It’s a developing story. Details to follow.
