White House meeting: Trump asked US companies for swift investment

UNITED NATIONS: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday said President Donald Trump asked the the US companies to invest in Pakistan immediately as the two sides have already a landmark memorandum of understanding (MoU) extract and refine critical minerals in Pakistan earlier this month.
Describing Thursday’s meeting at the White House as very productive, the prime minister again praised the US president for his efforts to ensure in the region.
The exchange of compliments comes as Trump on Thursday described Shehbaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir as great leaders.
Shehbaz was talking to reporters after addressing the UN General Assembly where he mentioned Trump’s “bold and visionary leadership”.

After offering India have comprehensive and result-oriented composite dialogue in his speech, the prime minister reiterated the stance that “we won the war and now want peace”.

He reminded the media persons that Trump had played a pivotal role in ending the Pakistan-India war and his decision to press for ceasefire was aimed peace in the region.
TRUMP AND TRADE
Soon after ensuring the ceasefire, Trump had urged Pakistan and India to opt for trade, instead of war and using nuclear weapons.
Since then, he has repeatedly not only mentioned how he used future trade deals as a carrot to make the two hostile countries stop the war and the role he played to force them to ensure ceasefire — a role that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi denies.
In fact, he has even seconded Pakistan’s stance that it downed seven Indian fighter jets, another fact that the Modi government isn’t ready to accept.
Since then, Pakistan has been able to ink a trade deal with the US while India is facing astonishingly high 50 per cent US tariffs along the effects of other decisions like that of increasing the fee of H-1B visas.
