Shooters of Teefi Butt’s brother-in-law make startling revelations

LAHORE: Suspects arrested in the murder of Javed Butt, the brother-in-law of Teefi Butt — the main suspect in the Ameer Balaj murder case — have made startling revelations, police said.

Lahore police earlier arrested the shooters identified as Azhar and Ilyas, who are accused of killing Javed Butt.

Javed Butt, one of the main suspects in the Ameer Balaj murder case, was shot dead near the Muslim Town underpass in Lahore two weeks ago.

According to DIG Organized Crime, Imran Kishwar, the suspects revealed during interrogation that they carried out the murder at the request of Ameer Musab, the son of Tipu Truckanwala. In return, they were promised Rs500,000 and two high-quality houses.

The shooters, Azhar and Ilyas, were reportedly in contact with Ameer Musab, who fled the country six days before Javed Butt’s murder. The shooters had remained in touch with him both before and after the killing.

The meeting between the shooters and Ameer Musab was facilitated by Arif, a former employee of Musab and a resident of Patoki, who remains at large.

This case follows the killing of Ameer Balaj Tipu on February 19 at a wedding ceremony in a housing society, where Muzaffar Hussain, an old gunman of Teefi Butt, shot him dead over a 30-year-old feud. Muzaffar was subsequently killed on the spot by Balaj’s bodyguards.

Ameer Balaj’s father, Tipu Truckanwala, was also killed in a gun attack at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport in 2010.
