Shooting, arrest, building on fire and madrasa roof collapse: a day in Karachi

KARACHI: Multiple incidents of shooting, arrest, building on fire and a madrassa roof collapse occurred in a single day in Karachi, claiming the life of a child while several were injured.

A fire broke out in a building near Shahrah-e-Faisal Nursery, late on Thursday. According to rescue officials, two fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to extinguish the blaze.

Meanwhile, gunfire was reported near Singer Chowrangi, a retail shop in the Korangi Industrial Area and Shershah, Paracha Chowk. According to rescue officials, at least two people were injured, and promptly rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The matter is currently under investigation.

Similarly, an alleged police encounter occurred in Safari Park located in the neighbourhood of Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

According to the police, one person was injured during the encounter who was then arrested and transferred to the hospital to treat his wounds.

In a second alleged police encounter took place near Teen Hatti Bridge in Jamshed Town. According to police reports, two suspects were killed during the altercation.

As per police reports, the suspects succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the roof of a madrasa collapsed in Shah Baig Surjani Town. The incident claimed the life of a 12-year-old child while injuring another.

Rescue workers promptly responded to the scene to provide assistance. The injured child was shifted to a local hospital while the body was sent to a morgue.

A speeding car veered off the road and collided with the footpath near Chowrangi in northern Karachi, resulting in one person sustaining injuries. According to the rescue officials, one person was injured.
