ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday departed on a one-day visit to Qatar to show solidarity with Doha following recent Israeli attacks.

He is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will meet Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to convey Pakistan’s condolences and support for the Qatari leadership and people.

Officials said the trip reflects Pakistan’s firm stance on safeguarding Qatar’s sovereignty and security, while also highlighting Islamabad’s commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East.

Shehbaz for crushing anti-state propaganda on social media

Earlier Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a post on X had strongly condemned what he described as a ‘heinous and unlawful’ bombing carried out by Israeli forces in Doha terming it a grave provocation and a violation of Qatari sovereignty.

The prime minister expressed deep outrage over the attack, which reportedly targeted a residential area and endangered the lives of civilians.

“On behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan, I strongly condemn the unlawful and heinous bombing in Doha by Israeli forces, targeting a residential area and endangering the lives of innocent civilians,” he said.

As Israel is pressing ahead with its plans to establish “Greater Israel” at a time when France and Saudi Arabia are leading a push to implement the two-state solution, Tel Aviv has been trying to drag more countries into the conflict.

On Wednesday, Israel more air strikes on Yemen, mainly targeting the media operations of Houthis, killing at least 35 people and wounding another 131.
