Sialkot: Two youngsters swept away in River Chenab

SIALKOT: One teenager has drowned, while another was rescued, while swimming near the Family Park area of River Chenab at Head Marala in Sialkot, according to Rescue 1122 officials.

The incident occurred when both boys were bathing in the river and suddenly drifted into deeper water.

Sixteen-year-old Asghar Ali was rescued on time and shifted to a hospital after receiving first aid.

However, the second boy, 17-year-old Sharjeel, drowned after being pulled into deep water. Rescue officials said Sharjeel had come from Narowal with his family for an outing.

Rescue 1122 divers have launched a search operation to recover the missing teenager.
