ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) the Sunni Ittehad Council has lodged a petition with the Supreme Court, seeking reserved seats in both the federation and provinces.

This move comes as a response to the recent decision by the Peshawar High Court (PHC), which ruled against the allocation of reserved seats to the SIC.

SIC’s counsel Advocate Faisal Siddiqui filed the petition urging the apex court to overturn the PHC’s decision, arguing that the rejection of their request for allotted seats was unjust.

The petition pleads the importance of fair representation for the SIC and calls for the annulment of the PHC’s ruling, which denied their request for reserved seats. Additionally, the appeal names several key parties, including the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), People’s Party, and MQM.
