shahrah e nazaria Pakistan signal free corridor in Lahore is now open for public

LAHORE: In its ongoing series of developmental initiatives, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has successfully transformed a stretch of over six kilometres on Shahrah Nazaria-e-Pakistan into a signal-free corridor.

This newly established signal-free corridor aims to enhance the efficiency of traffic movement along this bustling route, providing a smoother travel experience by eliminating the need for motorists to halt at traffic signals.

Lahore has witnessed significant improvements in its traffic flow due to the construction of various underpasses and flyovers. Navigating the city has become considerably more convenient than before.

The inauguration ceremony of the Shahrah Nazaria-e-Pakistan project took place on Tuesday, with Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi leading the event.

Key figures such as LDA DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, and other senior officers were also present to mark the occasion.

During the inauguration, Chief Engineer Israr Saeed provided a comprehensive overview of the project. He highlighted that the conversion of Shahrah-e-Nazaria into a signal-free corridor involved the construction of seven U-turns.

The completion of this signal-free corridor is anticipated to enhance travel convenience for residents of Wapda Town, Johar Town, LDA Phase 1, Valencia, PCSIR, Abdalian, and numerous nearby housing schemes in Lahore.

This particular road had long been known for heavy traffic congestion, and the corridor was successfully completed within a remarkably short timeframe.

Israr Saeed further informed the dignitaries that while two U-turns were previously built on the road, an additional five protected U-turns have been newly constructed and are now open for traffic.

Notably, he emphasised that the construction process did not involve cutting down a single tree. The Chief Minister commended the LDA team for their commendable efforts in completing projects ahead of schedule.
