Sindh Cabinet approves launching of ‘Kisan’ card

KARACHI: Sindh Cabinet has approved the launching of ‘Kisan’ Card in the entire province to give relief to the farmers.
The Sindh Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took up several issues including agriculture, irrigation and problems of the farmers.
Addressing the meeting CM said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has directed to initiate farmer cards and in this regard ‘Kisan’ cards will be launched throughout the Sindh province exclusively for landowners
These cards will also be issued to farmers owning 12 acres of land and engaged in self-cultivation, added Sindh CM.
Sindh CM instructing Chief Secretary to formulate policy for initiating farmer cards said in the next six months, farmer cards will be rolled out across Sindh.

Preference will be given to cardholders in wheat procurement.
In case of any natural calamity, assistance will be provided to farmers through these Sindh Kisan cards, Murad Ali Shah assured.
He said measures will be taken for agricultural development on scientific grounds.
IMurad Ali Shah assured that in the next budget, steps will be taken for the development of every district as per Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s directive.
Chief Secretary will hold meetings with departments of agriculture, food, irrigation, and revenue to finalize recommendations for launching farmer cards.
