Shab-e-Mairaj, also known as the Night of Ascension, is observed annually on the 27th of Rajab (lunar calendar). It commemorates the Isra (night journey) and Mairaj (ascension) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), during which he was taken on a divine journey to meet Allah Almighty, crossing seven heavens on the celestial steed ‘al-Buraq.’

On this sacred night, Muslims gather in mosques after Isha prayers for special worship that continues until Fajr. Mahafil-e-Naat and other gatherings are organised, and mosques, homes, and streets are adorned with lights and decorations.

Additionally, people visit the graves of loved ones to pray for the forgiveness of departed souls and seek blessings from Allah Almighty.
