Police encounter in New Karachi results in arrest, injuries to street criminals

KARACHI: In a recent development in the New Karachi Industrial Area, an encounter between the police and street criminals unfolded, leading to the injury of one suspect and the immediate arrest of his accomplice. The incident occurred in Sector 5G, near Madina Masjid, New Karachi.

According to reports, the accused individuals were spotted in Sector 5G, displaying suspicious behaviour that caught the attention of patrolling police officers. In response to the raised alarms, the police signalled the suspects to halt.

Ignoring the police instructions, the accused attempted to flee the scene. A chase ensued as law enforcement sought to apprehend the potential wrongdoers. As the police closed in, the suspects resorted to firing in an attempt to evade capture. In self-defence, the police retaliated.

During the exchange of gunfire, one of the robbers, identified as Farrukh, sustained serious injuries. He was promptly apprehended by the police. Additionally, another accomplice, identified as Muzamil, was successfully arrested.

The police recovered significant evidence from the possession of the accused, including a TT pistol with a 30-bore load magazine, a motorcycle believed to be used in the commission of crimes, and a sum of cash.

The injured suspect, Farrukh, is currently being transported to the hospital for medical attention. Simultaneously, a case has been registered at the local police station to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the encounter.

This operation was carried out by the New Karachi Industrial Area Police in their ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the community.
