Sindh schools summer holidays from June 1

KARACHI: The Education Department Sindh deciding against earlier summer vacations due to the current heat said that summer holidays in Sindh schools will begin from June 1.

A notification to this effect has been issued.

According to the notification, summer holidays in all schools of Sindh including Karachi will start from June 1 and continue till July 31.

Punjab schools summer holidays from May 25, notification issued

The holidays will be in accordance with the decision of the steering committee.

Summer vacations in Hyderabad and Larkana will also begin from June 1.

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Monday had postponed the ninth and matric exams from May 21-27 due to an expected heatwave.

A notification issued by the board stated that the decision has been taken in view of the heatwave alert issued by the National Disaster Management Authority and Provincial Disaster Management Authority.

It was further informed that the said examination will now be continued with effect from 28th May, 2024 as per schedule. The revised schedule of postponed papers will be issued later on,” read the notification issued by the board.

The decision was taken as per the orders of Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ali Malkani.
