Six children missing, four rescued as boat capsizes in Khushab

KHUSHAB: At least six children went missing while four others were rescued after a boat capsized in Khushab canal.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, the incident occurred in Tehsil Noorpur Thal where 10 children drowned in water after the boat capsized.

Rescue teams immediately reached the spot and began searching for the children. The search continues, he said.

The ages of the children are said to be between 14 and 16 years old.

Among the drowned children were two siblings: Samiullah, Azizullah, and Aftab, Waqas, Asad Ali and Shoaib Akram. All the children were from the suburbs of the Paleo Venice village.

According to the PDMA spokesperson, DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia had a telephonic conversation with DC Khushab. He instructed the district administration to speed up the rescue operation.

The DG PDMA stated that strict legal action would be taken against those who allow children on boats without life jackets.
