Latest monsoon spell claims 45 lives so far in Pakistan

Officials say the roof collapse in Rawalpindi occurred due to a weakened roof structure, worsened by continuous rain in recent days.

Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident. Panic spread in the area following the collapse.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected to trigger flash floods in several areas, including Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Dir, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, and Kashmir.

The PMD also warned of possible flash flooding in hill torrents and streams of Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Lasbela, and Kalat due to heavy downpours.

Additionally, strong winds and lightning could disrupt daily life and may damage fragile structures, power poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels during the wet spell.
