Six injured in second Quetta blast on same day

QUETTA: Six people were injured on Joint Road in Quetta after firing and an explosion, in a second such incident on the same day.
After the unidentified perpetrator set off a hand grenade, police and security forces arrived on the scene and cordoned off the area. According to the police, the six injured, including a woman, were taken to hospital to receive immediate medical treatment.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations in Quetta Zohaib Mohsin said that the investigation process of the explosion and firing on Joint Road is still ongoing.
SSP Mohsin also informed that out of the six people, two of them were policemen.
Quetta blast injures two FC personnel
Earlier today, two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were also injured in a blast in Sariab area of Quetta.
The incident occurred near the agriculture office on Sariab Road. A group of unidentified motorcyclists reportedly threw hand grenades before fleeing the scene, leading to an explosion.
The two FC personnel, posted at the gate for their duty, were seriously injured by the blast and were immediately shifted to the Frontier Corps Hospital for medical assistance.
Today’s events come only a week after Quetta saw an intense exchange of fire that led to the death of Nawabzada Haroon Raisani, the nephew of former Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani.
