Six more Indian drones downed in Punjab districts

ISLAMABAD: Security forces shot down six more Indian drones on Friday in different districts of Punjab, pushing the total number of downed enemy drones to 35, security and military sources said.

According to officials, all six drones , believed to be of Israeli origin, were intercepted in coordinated operations across Okara, Pakpattan, and Vehari. Four were destroyed in Okara, while one each was taken down in Pakpattan and Vehari.

A statement from security forces confirmed the drones had violated Pakistani airspace and were being tracked via radar systems before being neutralised. “Our air defence can detect and engage even small drones,” said a military spokesperson. He added that standard procedures were followed, especially near populated areas and commercial flight paths.

Local police said the debris from the drones landed in agricultural areas near villages 154L and 114L. Thankfully, no casualties were reported.

“The drones were tracked as soon as they entered our territory. Timely action ensured no civilian harm,” a police official said. He confirmed that the crash sites were secured and the wreckage collected for investigation.

In Vehari, the Army shot down another Indian drone near a village. The drone crashed in a field about 300 meters away from the residential area. This incident also caused no injuries.

The ISPR Director General said that all enemy drone activity is under round-the-clock surveillance. “Whenever such movements a , we act swiftly under a clear operational plan. Our radar coverage remains uninterrupted,” he said.

On Thursday, India reportedly launched a series of drone attacks across different parts of Pakistan. In response, Pakistan downed 25 drones, though the attacks claimed the lives of three civilians and left several others, including four soldiers, injured.
