ISLAMABAD:  In a significant development, the Skardu International Airport has inaugurated jet refueling service, with Pakistan State Oil (PSO) taking on the responsibility for the airport’s fueling operations.

This move comes as the airport prepares to mark another milestone on August 14, as it gears up for its inaugural international flight.

The introduction of jet fueling services at the Skardu International Airport represents a strategic advancement aimed at enhancing the airport’s operational capacities.

Pakistan State Oil, a leading state-owned energy company, will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and efficient supply of jet fuel to facilitate both domestic and international flights.

This pivotal moment marks a significant achievement for the airport as it enters the realm of international air travel.

Skardu airport to receive first international flight

The airport authorities said that they are committed to maintaining the highest standards of service and safety as they embark on this new chapter of their aviation journey.

The launch of jet refueling services at the airport not only underscores the airport’s commitment to fostering aviation growth but also highlights the country’s dedication to bolstering its air travel infrastructure and tourism.

As the inaugural international flight takes to the skies on August 14, all eyes will be on the Skardu International Airport, which is poised to play an increasingly influential role in Pakistan’s aviation landscape.

Skardu airport was declared international by the former prime minister in 2021, but the lack of refueling facilities for planes in the area hindered operations until now.

This first flight will reportedly arrive from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
