CDA pushes for smart parking to tackle vehicle influx in Islamabad

CDA smart parking

ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), has called for the implementation of smart parking management systems to address the growing number of vehicles in Islamabad.

During a meeting focused on automated parking solutions, he underscored the potential benefits, including enhanced public convenience and increased revenue for the city.

The meeting, attended by senior CDA officials, highlighted that the authority has already begun implementing smart parking systems across Islamabad. Additionally, it was decided that tracking systems would be installed on all CDA vehicles. This move aims to save fuel, improve vehicle monitoring, and curb fuel theft.

In another development, Chairman Randhawa visited Sector E-12, a long-delayed project where allottees have been unable to take possession of their plots for over 35 years. Historically, directives from CDA officials have often failed to translate into meaningful progress, leaving plot owners in limbo.

During his visit, Randhawa instructed the relevant officials to operationalise a one-window service to expedite the allocation of plots to genuine affectees, ensuring that they receive their due compensation.
