Special court extends judicial remand of PTI chairman, vice chairman

ISLAMABAD: The special court has extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and Vice Chairman till October 10.
Justice Zulqarnain Hasnat of the Official Secret Court heard the cipher case in Attock Jail. PTI’s lawyers Barrister Salman Safdar and Umair Niazi appeared in the court on behalf of the party leaders.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team was also present at the hearing. FIA produced PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the court as well.

The court extended the judicial remand of PTI chairman and vice chairman till October 10 and ordered the FIA to submit the challan at the earliest.
Speaking to the media after the hearing, Qureshi said, “Never before I even saw the police station, and now we have become terrorists”. Emphasising on the need for free and transparent elections, he said that he was looking at the country sinking and the only way out was the elections.
“If the elections are not transparent, there will be an irreparable loss,” he said, adding that if elections are not held, people will lose faith in the system and democracy.
Attock to Adiala
In another update, regarding the case of transferring PTI chairman from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail, the former prime minister said that he does not want to be transferred to Adiala Jail, sources said.
He said that he has adjusted to Attock Jail and he will ask his legal representatives to withdraw the application, sources informed on Tuesday morning.
