Special Protection Force established for safety of foreign nationals

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has announced the establishment of a Special Protection Force to strengthen security measures for foreign nationals in the country, especially in the federal capital territory of Islamabad.
The announcement to this effect was made by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Maqvi on Saturday while chairing a meeting in Islamabad in connection with the law and order situation.
The establishment of a new force is aimed at ensuring foreigners safety and safeguarding important documents and locations, including high-security areas such as the Red Zones.
The Special Protection Force will be entrusted with the responsibility of closely monitoring and safeguarding the interests of these individuals.
Naqvi also directed the use of modern technology to tighten the noose around the drug gangs.
“The sale of ice and other drugs outside the educational institutions will not be tolerated. The drug dealers are against the country’s prosperity and uplift,” he said.
FIA uncovers overbilling of 926.9 million units of electricity
Shedding light on the the first information reports (FIRs), Naqvi also directed to ensure the registration of the FIRs at any cost. He made it clear that action would be taken against the concerned police officers for not registering the FIRs.
The interior minister had summoned the comprehensive plan in a bid to address the traffic issues in the federal capital city.
Naqvi had also asked to wrap up the promotion case of the Islamabad police as soon as possible and fill the vacant posts.
He had also hinted at equipping Islamabad Safe City with modern requirements on the pattern of Lahore Safe City.
MOHSIN NAQVI DIRECTS INVESTIGATIONS AGAINST ELECTRICITY OVERBILLING COMPANIES
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also issued directives to initiate investigations against electricity overbilling companies.
According to details, the special teams consisting of officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the anti-corruption Wing have been formed.
In order to save electricity consumers from overbilling during the summer, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi himself has taken action.
While issuing directives for investigations against overbilling companies, the interior Minister has formed special teams of the FIA, which include officials from the Anti-Corruption Wing and other senior officers.
FIA officers will monitor the billing and electricity theft of every electricity distribution company. Adil Khan Niazi has been appointed as the focal person for Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO).
